Bruno Giuranna as Honorary President and Mark Lambrecht as Honorary Member of ESTA
The Central Board of ESTA
is delighted to announce that the Delegates Meeting has overwhelmingly voted to appoint Bruno Giuranna as Honorary President and Mark Lambrecht as Honorary Member of ESTA.
This is in recognition of their exceptional service to ESTA International for their full nine year term of office. Their time in office has been a period of great stability and positive development, and has seen the establishment of the Central Board as a servant, rather than the master, of the national branches.
In accepting the award, Bruno Giuranna said “The news that I have been appointed Honorary President of ESTA has moved me deeply and it brought to mind the memory of the person who was my first contact with our Association.
In 1976, Aurelio Arcidiacono asked me to sign a document to encourage the foundation of the Italian branch of ESTA. Without him, I wouldn’t be here today to thank you for the immeasurable honor you have bestowed on me.
A special thanks goes to Mark Lambrecht. Without him and without the enormous amount of work he has undertaken in all these years, I would not have been able to carry out my duties as president.”
Mark Lambrecht commented: “I feel delighted, grateful and deeply honoured by receiving Honorary Membership of ESTA. I have always enjoyed this benevolent work where I could combine my passion for cello playing and teaching with my love for languages. It has been very inspiring to meet and to bring together colleagues with common interests. I learnt so much from them. I have had the privilege to work together with Maestro Bruno Giuranna. During all these years we had an excellent collaboration and we developed a respectful friendship completely in the spirit of ESTA. Without his wisdom and positive support, I would never have been able to succeed in the job.
Many thanks, Bruno!”
